A tribute to the fallen in war, in the centenary year of the first world war. The programme of music by Vaughan Williams and Elgar, includes ‘The Lark Ascending’ and Dona Nobis Pacem and features the world premiere of ¬†a work by Gavin Carr called ‘Pour out your light, O stars’, ¬†inspired by Ivor Gurney, who was gassed in France in 1917, and died in an asylum in 1937, having written some of the most beautiful music of the early 20th Century.
